Last week on Project Runway All Stars 2015 we watched the remaining designers design bridesmaids dresses for the first ever Project Runway All Stars wedding! This week on Project Runway All Stars 2015 the designers will have to design red-carpet gowns that are inspired by Marilyn Monroe! This is also the final episode of Project Runway All Stars 2015 before the Project Runway All Stars season 4 finale! The designers will have to design this red-carpet dress for the Oscars and they have one day and $500 to do it! This is the challenge that will determine who is going to the finale next week! The designers are all sketching and then going to Mood for their fabric.
While they are working on their designs, Isaac comes in to tell them that there is some kind of twist, but what is it? They bring Lassie in and tell the designers that they will be designing a look for a dog that is movie inspired. They are given a bag with fabric in it to use for their looks. The designer that wins will get a chance to help design looks for Lassie’s line. The winner of this challenge is Michelle!
Now, back to business! Zanna is in the work room and she is talking to all of the designers. Michelle is told that her dress is really nice, but the chain in the back is kind of cheap looking. Dmitry is given a look like she is confused as to what he is doing. Sonjia is told that her construction really needs to be thought about here. Helen is told that her dress really needs to stand out and Zanna said that her dress feels more Victorian and old, rather than modern!
After Zanna’s critique, Helen decides that she is going to scrap the entire top of her dress and I’m not convinced that she is going to be able to finish her look and have it be amazing. I personally love Michelle’s dress, but I hate Sonjia’s dress. I don’t like her giant bow on the top, kind of tacky to me.
Runway time! Sonjia’s is the first up and I’m still not a fan of her bow, but who knows, she might win! Michelle’s dress is really pretty, but it is kind of see through in the light. I’m still not a fan of Helen’s look, it looks rushed and it doesn’t look like a red carpet dress. I like Dmitry’s dress too, it came out really nice considering I didn’t think it started off looking good at all.
Sonjia is getting great reviews on her dress, but a couple of them think that it is too busy. Michelle’s dress gets mixed reviews, they like the overall design, but she did leave one chain and someone said that they hated it. Helen is told that her dress is pretty, but the color is challenging on different skin tones and it isn’t very memorable. Dmitry is told that his dress is amazing, Alyssa Milano said it was probably the best dress she has seen on the All Star runway.
The designer to win this week is Dmitry, the next designer going into the finale is Sonjia! That leaves Michelle and Helen in the bottom and they both have to tell the judges why they deserve to be there. They are then brought back on to the runway to face all the designs that sent the other all stars home. They have to reinvent three of these looks into a successful look. They have one hour to do this.
There is one problem with what happened here, Michelle only used two looks instead of three. The winner and the third person going to the finale is Helen! That means that Michelle has been eliminated!
