Last week on Project Runway All Stars 2014 we watched as the designers came up with good and wicked looks inspired by the Broadway musical Wicked. The judges on Project Runway All Stars season 4 we impressed by many of the looks that hit the runway, but there were a few on Project Runway All Stars 2014 that the judges didn’t care for. This week the designers will have to put a personal feel on their looks on Project Runway All Stars 2014 and use their personal relationships as inspiration for their looks. They will be designing party dresses that will have to wow the judges on Project Runway All Stars 2014, with the guest judge being none other than Nina Garcia from Project Runway! Stick around to find out what happens on tonight’s episode of Project Runway All Stars 2014!
We start tonight’s episode with Nina and Scott Davies from Zales giving the designers their challenge for the week. They have to design a party dress that is inspired by past, present and future relationships and Zales will be giving the winning designer a $10,000 gift card and a $15,000 custom pendant from their Past, Present, Future collection. They are told that they are not allowed to make a black or white dress this week!
After sketching their ideas and shopping for their fabric at Mood, they start putting their dresses together! I have to say some of the designers have picked some interesting fabrics and I can’t wait to see what they come up with this week for the runway! This challenge is bringing out some pretty strong emotions in the designers and I hope that they are able to really get their ideas across, some of them have some great ideas!
Zanna Roberts Rassi is now here and giving them her critiques and she tells Gunnar that she needs him to make his dress have a wow factor because there is a lot of red dresses. Sonjia is told that her dress seems a little “mother-of-the-bride” and Kate is told that her dress looks like a maternity dress.
I love the purple that Michelle and Jay are using, it is a really pretty purple, but I feel like Jay’s dress is so much better than Michelle’s. There is just too much fabric in her dress and the fabric is the same fabric that Sonjia is using =, just a different color. Dmitry is told that his dress looks cheap and he is really not happy about this critique, let’s hope that fuels him to change it up a bit.
After the models come in for a fitting, Kate decides that she is going to re-do her whole dress because it doesn’t look good on her model. This is going to be bad and I hope that she doesn’t go home because of this last minute decision to ditch her look!
The designers are now doing some last minute finishings and then it is hair and makeup time and then runway time! Who do you think will make the top and bottom this week? Let me know what you think!
Along with Nina, there are more guest judges, Danielle Bernstein and Seth Aaron Henderson, season 3 Project Runway All Stars winner! I love Dmitry’s look, I think that the see through strips are odd though, Sonjia’s dress is not very nice, I hate the color combination. I love Benjamin’s flowy, shimmery gold dress and Jay’s dress is awesome and I love that it has a bit of a pattern in it.
Fabio’s dress is really pretty, but it doesn’t scream party look, it’s more of a spring office attire, Kate’s dress isn’t bad, but I don’t think it will be in the top and I love Justin’s dress, but she twirled and we saw her underwear, not good. Michelle’s dress is pretty, but again it’s more like a spring or fall look, not really a party dress. Gunnar’s dress is really nice, but it really sloppy and not put together well.
Samantha’s dress is pretty, but the top doesn’t seem to fit very well and Helen’s dress is nice, but I feel like it was too safe. Zales loved the runway show so much that they are giving each designer a $1000 giftcard on top of the grand prize.Michelle, Justin, Samantha, Jay and Fabio are all safe tonight. That leaves Helen, Gunnar, Dmitry, Benjamin, Kate and Sonjia in the top and bottom!
Sonjia is getting rave reviews about her dress, even though I totally hate it, Gunnar is not getting very good reviews about this dress at all, Benjamin is being told that his dress is too costumey and it is too Project Runway 101. Helen is told that her dress has is tragically romantic and a great design.
The judges seem to like the top of the dress, but they don’t like the bottom half or the color choice and Dmitry is told that his dress is sharp and sexy and he is told that they love it, except for Issac who seemed to hate it. Gunnar, Kate and Benjamin are in the bottom this week and Helen, Dmitry and Sonjia are in the top.
Dmitry is safe and the winner is Helen, Sonjia is also safe from elimination this week! Benjamin is also safe, that leaves Kate and Gunnar on the bottom. Kate is eliminated tonight, which means that Gunnar gets to stick around this time!
