Last week on Project Runway All Stars 2014 we watched as the designers took materials from a construction site and created feminine dresses and other looks. I have to say, some of them were very impressive, but one designer did not come through on Project Runway All Stars 2014. This week on Project Runway All Stars 2014 the designers will have to design looks inspired by the Broadway musical, “Wicked.” I am super excited about this couture-inspired challenge, I loved the books that the musical was based on and I can’t wait to see what the designers can come up with tonight! Keep reading to find out what happens tonight on Project Runway All Stars 2014!
The designers are told that they will be doing a good or wicked and they will also be facing off against each other. The designers going head to head are, Fabio (good) and James (wicked), Sonjia (good) and Kate (wicked), Helen (good) and Benjamin (wicked), Michelle (good) and Chris (wicked), Jay (good) and Samantha (wicked) and Gunnar (good) and Dmitry (wicked).
This is a two day challenge with a $250 budget and they will be making good or wicked inspired couture look, this is going to be tough especially in that short of a time period! They are all sketching and then they will have a half an hour to shop for their materials at Mood and they are really racing against the clock already!
Day one consisted of a lot of designing and getting their ideas mapped out on their mannequins and some of the designers are getting overly cocky. Day two starts off with the designers trying to get a feel for what their competitors are doing, then Zanna Roberts Rassi walks in and gives them some words of advice.
Chris is told that his dress can’t look at all crafty, which it does and Michelle is told that her simple design is ok as long as it has a wow factor. Dmitry is told the same thing and Gunnar is told that his is looking a little old fashioned. Justin isn’t really told anything, but Fabio is told that he has too many ideas in one design.
Sonjia is told that she is right on track and Kate is told not to make it too costumey. Helen is told to be careful with the ruffle she made and then Benjamin is told to keep his competition in mind. Jay is told that a wide leg pant might work well with his look and Samantha is told that her dress is boring and dull! Ouch!
The models have come in for their fittings and then they will be putting their finishing touches on all of their looks. The designers are getting a little anxious with just a few hours of work time left for this challenge! What is going to happen on the runway I wonder! I can’t wait to find out that’s for sure!
The models are getting dressed and then getting their hair and makeup done, this is so exciting! They all look amazing and they all did a great job on their designs! I have to say though, Dmitry’s looks a little ballroom rather than couture and Jay might have this challenge won!
The guest judges tonight are Betsy Johnson and Ariel Winter! Helen’s look is first and I really like this dress, except the excessive ruffles. Benjamin’s dress looks great as well, I love the design of his dress more. Gunnar’s dress is really short and Dmitry’s still feels very ballroom-like.
I love Sonjia’s dress and Kate’s is really cool, but it doesn’t scream couture to me, it looks very cheap. Michelle’s look is really nice as well, but I really like Chris’ dress a lot! Fabio’s dress, or not a dress, is different and risky because it actually has pants, but Justin’s dress is flawless!
Jay’s dress is great, but I lobe Samantha’s dress, she could have used some more time to clean it up better though. Michelle, Justin, Samantha, Sonjia, Benjamin, Dmitry are named the winners. Sonjia, Samantha and Dmitry have the high scores and Chris, Fabio and Helen have the low scores and one of them will be going home!
The judges are talking to each of the top designers and getting an idea of where their minds were when they designed their dresses. The judges are deliberating and then we will find out the fate of the designers tonight on Project Runway All Stars 2014!
The winner on tonight’s episode of Project Runway All Stars 2014 is Sonjia! Dmitry, Samantha and Fabio are all safe, that leaves Chris and Helen in the bottom and the designer that is going home tonight is Chris!
