Last week was the season premiere of Project Runway All Stars 2014 and it was really exciting, for us anyways, not so much for the designers on Project Runway All Stars 2014. When the show first started we were told who ten of the designers on Project Runway All Stars season 4 were, then they revealed the other two, Check out who the designers are this season of Project Runway All Stars and who went home last week right here with my Project Runway All Stars season 4 recap!
This week on Project Runway All Stars 2014 the designers will have to take masculine and unconventional materials that you would normally find on a construction site and make them into something stylish. We have seen some interesting things come out of these unconventional challenges on Project Runway All Stars in the past, I can’t wait to see tonight’s finished looks! Tonight on Project Runway All Stars 2014 we start off with the designers going to meet Alyssa Milano for their challenge. When they are told that they are going to be faced with an unconventional challenge, they are less than thrilled. They will be taking materials from a construction site and turning them into a feminine look, not as easy as it sounds. They have 15 minutes to gather their materials.
The designers are now in the work room and start sketching their ideas and working on their looks and I have to say some of the designers are on the right track. Dmitry gets a really nice green dress going on his mannequin but decides that he hates it and scraps his idea all together. The kicker is he completely copies what Chris is designing and when Chris gets upset, Dmitry thinks it’s because his looks better.
Fabio is working on something and it looks like it is going to be really pink, this should be fun. Zanna Roberts Rassi walks in to give the designers some words of advice and one thing she said to Dmitry is to make sure his look isn’t too much like anyone else’s. Michelle is told that her look may be too sporty and Sonjia is told that hers might not be feminine enough.
Alexandria is told that hers looks really spooky and gothic, she didn’t like this criticism at all but sticks with it and I think this is going to hurt her in the end. I have to say, Justin’s zip tie dress is quite genius and I can’t wait to see it finished and on his model, I think this has what it takes to win today’s challenge!
The models come in and start getting hair and makeup done and start getting into their dresses. I think that Justin is in a very good place with his look, but I think that Jay could be in trouble with his dress that is made out of a frayed tarp. Now it is time for the runway show and we will find out now who will win and who will lose tonight’s challenge!
Today’s guest judges are Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “Jwoww” Farley and Elie Tahari! Jay’s look is first up and I don’t like it at all, it looks cheap and not very feminine. Fabio is up next and I think his look is fun and flirty, Kate’s dress is also very fun and stylish. I don’t like Alexandria’s look at all, the net on the bottom has to go.
Michelle’s look is very cute and very feminine although it is a little on the sporty side. Helen’s look is really cute, but there isn’t much to it and Benjamin has a very similar concept to Justin’s look. Gunnar’s chain mail dress is really cool looking, I really like that idea, but Samantha’s look isn’t as cool looking.
Dmitry has a minor mishap on the runway with his model’s butt hanging out of his dress and Chris’ look is not very feminine. I do like Sonjia’s look though with the caution tape, but it is still nothing compared to Justin’s zip tie dress. Love his look.
Dmitry, Fabio, Gunnar, Benjamin, Helen, Sonjia and Samantha are all safe this week, that leaves Chris, Jay, Alexandria, Michelle, Justin and Kate in the top and bottom! The models are now out on the runway with the designers and the judges are talking to the designers about their looks.
Kate is getting some mixed reviews, she was told that it should have been a little longer, but Alyssa told her it was very arts and craftsy. Michelle is told that her color use was great, but is also told that she should have thought it out more. Justin is told that his dress is gorgeous, all of the judges loved it.
Alexandria is told that there is something about the texture of the dress makes it not very pretty and Jay is told that he used the tarp very well and the nail necklace is really cool, I still don’t like it. Chris is told that the top just doesn’t work for his look and he explains that he had to change his look last minute because of some of the other designers making similar dress.
Kate is safe tonight, Justin is named the winner and along with him, Jay is also safe. Chris was told that even though he had a low score this week, he is also safe. That leaves Michelle and Alexandria in the bottom two. The designer that is going home on Project Runway All Stars 2014 is Alexandria!
