Tonight we kick off a brand new season of Project Runway All Stars 2014 and I know that you are just as excited as I am to see some of the talented designers of the past on Project Runway All Stars 2014! The designers are back for a second chance to win it big on Project Runway All Stars season 4 and when I say big I mean $150,000 big along with some other great prizes. This season of Project Runway All Stars 2014 will consist of 14 designers from seasons past, the designers this year are Chris March, Justin LeBlanc, Kate Pankoke, Samantha Black, Patricia Michaels, Alexandria von Bromssen, Jay Sario, Benjamin Mach, Sonjia Williams, Gunnar Deatherage, Helen Castillo and Fabio Costa. Keep reading to find out what happens tonight on the season 4 premiere of Project Runway All Stars 2014!
We start tonight’s episode with the designers all meeting up at Grand Central Terminal and some of them know each other from their seasons. There is still some awkward feelings between Helen Castillo and Alexandria von Bromssen. They all meet up with Alyssa Milano to find out what their challenge for the day is, but first, there is a twist.
We don’t know who the other two designers are, I only have 12 listed above! The other two designers that they have coming back to join the designers are Dmitry Sholokhov and Michelle Lesniak! Now it is time for the challenge for the day, they are broken up into teams of boys versus girls and they are told that each team will have to design a collection representing the uptown look or the downtown look.
They will be flipping a coin, Alyssa tells the boys that they will be calling it and Demitry calls it and wins! They choose to go with the downtown look, which means that the girls get the uptown look for their collection! They are given a $1500 budget per team and this will be a one day challenge!
All the designers take an hour to find inspiration and start their sketches and then they go shopping at mood for all their fabrics. When they get back to the work room, they realize that one of the designers, from the guys team, fabrics didn’t make it back with them! This is not good at all for the guys, they will have to figure out something for that look in their collection!
Fabio is the designer with the missing fabric and he now has to rethink and redesign his look and use other fabric to make it. After they start working on their looks, some of the teams get a look at what they can expect from the other designers , then Zanna Roberts Rassi walks in to give her input.
She gives them all some input and they all take it in and start making adjustments to their looks, then all the models come in to get fitted. At the end of the day, not all of the designers are done, some of them seem to have a lot of work to do still and this is not going to end well at all for them.
It is now time for them to get their models styled and dressed, after they have their models dressed and I’m not sure about some of them. Some of the looks are not very imaginative and some of them are rather cliche, but I guess we will see what the judges have to say because it is runway time!!
The judges tonight are Georgina Chapman, Isaac Mizrahi and our guest judge is Ivanka Trump! The first looks on the runway are the women’s uptown looks and I really do like most of them, Patricia’s is a little sloppy in my opinion and Kate’s is also a little sloppy looking, other than that the collection was strong.
Now for the guys, I really liked Chris’ skirt, Justin’s look is really nice as well for a downtown look. My favorite look was Benjamin’s but it was more of an uptown look and I have to say, Fabio’s look came out awesome considering he had to change his design because his fabric got lost! The winning collection was the boys and their downtown looks, Justin, Jay, Gunnar, Dmitry, Sonjia, Sam, Alexandria and Helen are all safe and through to next week.
That leaves Chris, Benjamin and Fabio in the top and Patricia, Michelle and Kate in the bottom. Kate is told that there are a lot of ideas in her dress that didn’t really work well. Michelle is told that Ivanka liked it, but Alyssa told her it looked like car seat upholstery. Patricia is told that they loved the idea of the dress, but there are some technical issues with it.
Fabio is told that they loved this look, they really liked that it was a really great look but the pants did need a little more length. Chris is told that his look was nice but Ivanka mentioned that it was a bit cliche and his corset needed to be tighter, but it was a great concept over all. Benjamin’s dress got some rave reviews, I think that he will probably be the winner tonight!
After deliberation, the judges named Fabio and Ivanka has agreed to wear his design! He couldn’t be anymore excited! Michelle is safe this week, that leaves Kate and Patricia up for elimination and they decide to send Patricia home tonight and spare Kate.
