Last week on Project Runway All Stars season 4 the designers went swimming with the sharks, well only one of them did to almost double the designers budgets. The designers on Project Runway All Stars 2015 all used sea creatures as inspiration for their looks. In the end, one of the designers fell short on Project Runway All Stars season 4. This week on Project Runway All Stars 2015 the designers will use the Big Apple as inspiration for their looks. Specifically the New York Stock Exchange, which as you all know is very professional, stylish and sometimes even a little high fashioned. I can’t wait to see what tonight has in store for us! Tonight the designers will be partnering with QVC and they will be designing separates that look great together and with other garments. There is a twist though, they will have to design a second look for a second model that is very fashion forward! I can’t wait to see what they come up with!
While at Mood, the designers are all pretty all over the place, no one really knows what fabric to use or what direction to go in with the fabric. Then all of a sudden, time is called! I do like that Fabio went with a white fabric and decided he was going to dye it with a splatter design, but I think it’s a little risky for this challenge.
Dmitry is using a fabric that reminds me of a wet suit, it doesn’t seem like it is going to be very flattering. Helen is having issues with the “ready-to-wear” part of this challenge because she normally does high end fashion looks. Jay doesn’t seem to understand that he can only design two pieces, he keeps trying to throw in a third.
Zanna comes in and talks to all the designers and they all get some great feedback, some of them get some feedback that they don’t want to hear either. Jay is told that his fabric isn’t wearable and Helen is told to make sure she doesn’t go too mortician with this look. Zanna does like a lot of what they are working with.
After a little more work, the models come in for their fittings and I have to say that I really love Michelle’s fabric. I also like the way Fabio’s fabric looks, but the look itself, not so much. Sonjia’s dress is really interesting, it is bright yellow and she literally threw it together in what seemed to be five minutes.
Jay hasn’t even started his ready-to-wear outfit, he has two hours to get it done and as far as Dmitry’s look, I hate the neoprene! Jay manages to get his looks finished, I also really hate the jacket that Sonjia chose for her fashion forward look. I love Fabio’s fashion forward, but his ready-to-wear is not so hot.
It is time for the runway show now! I’m not a fan of either of Sonjia’s looks, the cut outs are tacky and the color is awful. I love Fabio’s fashion forward look, but I could do without the bow and his ready-to-wear look is awful. Helen’s ready to wear look is interesting, but her fashion forward look is very dark looking compared to it.
I like Michelle’s ready-to-wear look, but the poofy sleeves are kind of odd. I hate Dmitry’s neoprene look, I do like the fashion forward look and I like the addition of lace in both looks, I feel he should have used a different type of fabric for his first look.
Jay’s ready-to-wear look is casual to me, I do like his fashion forward look though, the bottom is a little weird though. This week they are all getting a critique, who do you think will win this challenge? Who do you think is going home this week?
Dmitry is told that he has a great understanding of the female body, but one of the other judges said that his fashion forward look is too short. Fabio is told that his fashion forward either needed more or it needed less and his ready-to-wear look is very cute. The judges are raving over Sonjia’s looks, everyone except the judges hated her looks, they seem to love them!
Helen is getting great reviews, they really love her black fashion forward look. Michelle is told that the print is odd and they can’t figure out if they love it or hate it. Jay is told that the fabric on his pant is all wrong, but they really seem to like his fashion forward look.
Dmitry is safe this week, Helen and Sonjia are in the top two and Sonjia is named the winner! They are obviously both safe. That leaves Fabio, Michelle and Jay in the bottom, Michelle is safe and the designer that is going home this week is Jay!
